Q + A

Where should I fly into?

1. Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN) - Distance to Gargnano: About 70 km (43 miles), 1 hour by car. Verona is the closest major airport to Lake Garda, and it's well-connected to both domestic and international flights. From Verona, you can easily rent a car or take a bus to the lake. ___________________________________________________________________ 2. Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) - Distance to Gargnano: About 160 km (100 miles), around 2 hours by car. Milan Malpensa is an international airport with a wide range of flight options, especially for long-haul flights. Although it is farther than the other airports, it offers the advantage of more frequent flights from major cities around the world and has many train options to get to Villa Sostaga! Milan is a bustling metropolis with many transportation options to Lake Garda, including trains, buses, and rental cars. ___________________________________________________________________ 3. Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) - Distance to Gargnano: About 180 km (112 miles), around 2 to 2.5 hours by car. Venice is a major international gateway, and although it’s farther away than some of the other airports, it can be a good choice for travelers combining a trip to Lake Garda with a visit to Venice. Venice is well-connected to Lake Garda by both road and rail, with options for rental cars or buses.

What documents do I need to get into Italy?

For 2025, there are new requirements for travel to Italy. Any non-EU citizen visiting EU countries will need to complete an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) application form online prior to travel. A valid passport with at least six months validity remaining is also required, so please make sure to check your expiration date on your passport. See below for more details.

Mandatory ETIAS Application Form

The ETIAS application is not yet available online, but we will be sure to contact each guest once the new border program goes into effect. It’s scheduled to begin in 2025 and will require an application fee of 7 (EUR) Euros; however, individuals under the age of 18, or over the age of 70, will not need to pay the fee. Payment will be required via debit or credit card to complete the application process. Once payment is completed, most applicants will receive an approval within minutes. An approved ETIAS visa waiver will be valid for three consecutive years upon issuance. https://etias.com/etias-application#updates

How do I get to the venue?

Once you land at any of these airports, you have several options to get to Gargnano. Public transportation is available from most cities. From Verona, Milan, or Venice, you can take trains to Desenzano del Garda or Peschiera del Garda, followed by a bus or taxi to Gargnano.
